reminders of life

Each artwork in the worlddeathday.com collection is designed to both subtly prompt reflection on mortality, on endings. Yet more importantly, in doing so it is hoped that in the acknowledgement of death, an urgency, with no small fight emerges; that to live, to be truly alive is the source of life's meaning. We do not need to be constantly reminded of death for its own sake, and we certainly don't need to be made fearful by sinister imagery. Instead, we take a gentler approach: to speak plainly and truthfully yes, but to use it in order that we remember to live until we die, and not before.
